  • Leaves - Residents are asked to not rake leaves into the streets. If you need assistance in getting them to the yard waste site, please bag the leaves and place them at the curb for pick-up.


  • Hydrant Flushing - The City of Hornell will be flushing hydrants in the Town of Hornellsville/Village of North Hornell and the City of Hornell between the hours of 11:00 pm and 7:00 am during the week of October 23, 2016 – October 29, 2016. Residents are encouraged to refrain from washing clothes during flushing hours and to check their water for discoloration before use. If you experience discolored water, let the cold water run until it clears.


  • Street Sweeper - The 2016 street-sweeping season will end as of Saturday morning, October 29, 2016. The parking ban on city streets that had been in place during the street-sweeping season is no longer in effect.


  • Recycling - Hornell is now running a "No-Sort Recycling Program". You no longer have to sort paper, plastic and glass. Recycling pickup is still the third full week of the month on your normal trash pickup day. Everyone is encouraged to take part in the program and help sustain the environment for future generations.


  • Yard Waste Site - The City Yard Waste Site is open daily.


  • Credit Cards - For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover for payment of your taxes, water and garbage bills. Please note that there is a convenience fee of 2.5% of the transaction or a minimum $1.95


  • Common Council Meeting - The next regular meeting of the Common Council will be MONDAY, November 21, 2016 at 7:00 pm in the Council Chambers, 82 Main St., Hornell.

Ambulance Billing

There is a fee for using the Ambulance and billing is done through Professional Ambulance Billing (PAB). PAB bills Medicare and Medicaid, other insurance carriers and individuals for the cost of the ambulance transports.
