TOY SOLDIER MUSEUM

Located adjacent to the Hornell Railroad museum features 12 display cases of  toy soldiers.  These displays follow the evolution from the early days of modeling with lead based materials to more detailed intricate creations.

One display case is devoted to the work of Mario Venturi featuring his figures with the banners of Medieval Italian City States.

Also on display is the work of Richard Courtney who has transformed the soldier figure from a toy to an art form by adding movement and flexibility.

The toy soldiers are owned either by Robert Zwald, David Shults or the museum.

The museum will be open by appointment or when someone is on duty at the rail museum.  For more information or to make an appointment please call (607)324-1107.
